When I got my First DS. I made a Sluggy Freelance Decal on my computer. I got some Decal paper from a hobby shop and used a Kinko's printer to get the images on. Then I carefully cut them and pieced them onto the DS. It lasted for about a year.

I commend you for the direct approach, but If you ever want to go a little more professionally custom, it is possible, and not that hard.

but, i cant say i would do the same to my DS =/
